Why I Didn't Like Dissimulation

When KSI announced that he was going to release a solo album, my first thought was, "this will probably be shit," but then as he released single after single, I had some hope. Although most people are happy with the release of Dissimulation, I can't help but feel that this was a poorly structured project.
If you know the name KSI, you know he is quite wealthy. So, that makes me wonder what team of teenagers with iPhones was behind the auto tune used in multiple songs. The way that autotune was used throughout this album completely erased all of his improvement. For years, KSI was terrible at pronouncing his words in his music which made all of his flows and punchlines weak. And now that he has managed to improve that issue, the auto tune used in many songs made his punchlines worse and the flow sloppier.
A really good idea, in my humble opinion, would be to lock KSI in a room until he can learn to write some decent lyrics. When Wake Up Call was released as a single and featured the lyric, "I jump hurdles like kangaroos," I was in genuine shock at how utterly stupid some of the lyrics were. There are lyrics that literally don't rhyme, such as, "I've been on cuttin' the middle man - buyin' in bulk and I never wear," and there are god-awful choruses all over this project. What You Been On and Cap both have a repeating chorus that are irritating. Sadly, his poor lyrics don't stop at Wake Up Call. Undefeated features the brilliant lyric, "hate to swallow like a cinnamon," get it? Because it's hard to swallow cinnamon. It's another one of those bars where you just have to say that it makes sense but it's utterly stupid.
You could say that I'm nitpicking here but the adlibs all over this project are just ridiculous. If you take a shot every time KSI says "skrrt" on this project, you will probably die. Skrrt is supposed to imitate the sound of a car drifting. Rappers usually use this noise when flexing. But KSI just thought, "yeah, I need to sound like a rapper," the beginning of the track How It Feel is literally, "you the best, how it feel? Skrrt," hearing that just tells me how hard KSI wanted to prove that he was a rapper.
The final point I made is the best conclusion. Throughout this album you can hear how much KSI wants to make it clear that he is a real artist. And he is. However, trying to sound like every other real artist will take away all of your credibility. The styles performed, the lyrics, the production just doesn't represent KSI's strong points. The singles released prior to the full record were solid. I didn't enjoy Wake Up Call but even that track holds more respect than most of the other ones. Down Like That and Poppin are great tracks, and Houdini and Wake Up Call are definitely respectable. But this track list is full of insanely poor moments.
